RBC: Russia and India discussed the balance of bilateral trade

The session «Russia-India: on the way to 100 billion trade turnover» was held within the framework of the 15th International Industrial exhibition INNOPROM-2025

The Aluminum Association, with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, held a session «Russia-India: on the way to 100 billion trade turnover» within the framework of the 15th international industrial exhibition INNOPROM-2025.

During the event, the business circles of both countries discussed what factors could hinder the achievement of this goal, as well as how to achieve a balanced bilateral trade turnover.

The key topics of the event were: strengthening cooperation for economic sustainability and innovation; search for new areas of trade and economic cooperation; formation of the EAEU-India free trade area; opportunities and obstacles to expanding trade; the role of business associations in expanding mutual trade; formation of «green» supply chains, expansion and liberalization of trade in «green» goods.

The discussion was attended by Vinay Kumar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Russian Federation; Andrey Sobolev, Trade Representative of Russia in India; Nikita Ryblenkov, Executive Secretary of the Association of Electrometallurgical Enterprises; Nikita Ryblenkov, Deputy General Director of Novostal-M LLC; Manish Kumar, Deputy Chairman of the Commission for India of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Manish Kumar, President of Soltex Group;Igor Kurzhiyamsky, President of Novikombank, Mikhail Labudin, Director of the Association of Clusters, Technoparks and SEZs of Russia, Alexander Krutov, Vice President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as Andrey Larin, CEO of Mash Unit LLC.

The event was moderated by Artyom Asatur, Deputy Chairman of the Aluminum Association.

«We are actively working on the development of exports of Russian aluminum products to India. We expect a steady increase in demand for aluminum in India, bearing in mind the high growth rates of its economy as a whole and aluminum-consuming industries in particular. This makes the Indian market particularly promising for our companies and opens up new opportunities for cooperation,» says Irina Kazovskaya, Chairman of the Aluminum Association.

«Through the efforts of businesses on both sides, with the support of our government agencies and associations, we will remove the remaining barriers and achieve sustainable and balanced growth in mutual trade,» Artyom Asatur summed up.
